Asuncion, IP Agency.- After 15 years, restructuring and adaptation work was carried out in the Intensive Care Unit of the Trauma Hospital, which houses a total of 28 beds.
The work carried out in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) included replacing the electrical system, re-adapting the gas system with homologation of the connection for medical hoses to the DISS system and a wall-mounted oxygen flowmeter.
As well as a vacuum regulator, a litre suction bottle, a ball valve and an individual gas cut-off flow regulating valve for each bed, which means that when carrying out maintenance, there is no interference with the central gas supply.
The pipes for medicinal gases were also renewed, the room cooling system was maintained, and masonry, electricity, lighting and painting were adapted.
A temporary contingency area was also set up for seven days to avoid interfering with the care of patients undergoing therapy. In order to reduce the completion period as much as possible, continuous work was carried out with rotating guards.
The Trauma Hospital has a total of 35 intensive care beds, of which seven are for children and 28 for adults, the Ministry of Public Health reported.
