Improvement of rural roads strengthens connectivity of Ñeembucú communities

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications, in alliance with local authorities, seeks to improve the transitability of road sections, adapting to the unique geography of Ñeembucú, in order to strengthen rural connectivity to prevent the isolation of the population, facilitate access to essential services such as education and health, in addition to boosting the economic activity of its inhabitants.

These works are particularly important in Ñeembucú, characterized by its extensive wetlands. With 60% of its territory covered by estuaries and waterways, including the Paraná and Paraguay rivers, the area faces unique challenges for road maintenance.

In this context, District No. 12 of the ministerial portfolio carried out a series of strategic interventions that benefited eight communities in the department of Ñeembucú during the week, reaffirming its commitment to the development of road infrastructure in the region.

The work began on Monday, August 19, with the profiling of the platform between Isla Sola and the Cerrito crossing. The following day, the Road Improvement Plan continued in the corridor that links Yaguarón, Duarte Cué, Tacuara’i, Punta Diamante, Piretu Cué and San Jorge, within the framework of an agreement between the MOPC and the Government.

On Wednesday 21, crews repaired the road between the Cerrito and Laureles crossings. At the same time, the Ministry’s Bridges department restored a wooden structure on the Tacuara’i-Punta Diamante stretch, with the collaboration of the residents, who supplied the materials.
