Improvement of route D025 will speed up traffic and transform connectivity in Central

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), is advancing with the improvement and duplication of Departmental Route D025, a strategic initiative that will transform connectivity in the Central department.

The work, in the “Public Price Competition” phase through the Itaipú Technology Park Foundation – Paraguay (FPTI-PY), promises to speed up traffic and generate a significant impact in the area, benefiting residents, travelers and the local economy .

MOPC Minister Claudia Centurión asserted that the duplication from the airport will not only speed up traffic and efficiently connect Luque with Mariano Roque Alonso and Limpio, but also reflects the commitment to sustainable mobility. The inclusion of a bicycle lane promotes a more balanced urban development, he pointed out.

Scope and key components

The intervention covers 6.03 kilometers from the junction with route PY03 (Northern Access) to the vicinity of the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, in Luque.

Under the “Final Engineering Design (DFI) and Construction” modality, the plan includes the duplication of the route, improvement of General Díaz Avenue, new bridge over the Itay stream; in addition to solutions for conflictive intersections, longitudinal drainage systems, implementation of bicycle lanes and construction of sidewalks and bus stops.

Financing and deadlines

These works will be financed with additional resources obtained after the successful negotiation of the new electricity rate with Brazil, guaranteeing their execution without affecting other budgets.

The schedule includes 25 months, of which 4 are for the Final Engineering Design and 21 for construction. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications will technically supervise the work, ensuring compliance with quality standards and established deadlines.
