Chateau-Chinon (City). Vaccination before recovery. Last Monday began a public health action, around vaccination coverage and awareness of papillomavirus infections, implemented by the company SISA Multisites Morvan Bazois (SMMB).
Martine Daoust, vice-president of health at the Community of Communes Morvan Summits and Great Lakes, explains in more detail this specific action devoted to vaccination coverage.
“An important public health subject to highlight, with an upsurge in cases of polio, measles and tuberculosis with unpleasant repercussions, especially in adulthood”, warns Martine Daoust.
A delay in the schedule
All this week, the eighteen health professionals present in the Morvan-Bazois territory are taking stock with their patients, and raising awareness among the most reluctant. The objective is to ensure optimum vaccination coverage.
The medical centers of Château-Chinon, Châtillon-en-Bazois, Moulins-Engilbert and Saint-Saulge have specific posters and brochures as well as vaccination schedules ranging from infants to the elderly.
“We often see delays in the schedule for adults, some reluctance is due to the presence of aluminum in vaccines, this quantity is tiny, there is more risk with a foil in the oven”, deplores Christine Duvernoy, pharmacist in Chateau-Chinon.
Pharmacists, major players in public health, are awaiting a decree, scheduled for October, to have the right to vaccinate once morest presentation of a prescription.
This week will also be an opportunity to raise awareness among college students and their parents regarding the prevention of uterine cancer. “Progress is important. We know that the vaccination of young girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 14 provides long-term protection,” says Martine Daoust.
Network work
Alongside these awareness-raising actions, the SISA supports healthcare professionals in their restructuring. The Moulins-Engilbert Health Center welcomes three medical interns every six months. They ensure the consultations by rotating on the different sites.
Some of them are autonomous and trained to become apprentice masters. To facilitate the exchange of data, the “professional” application will be set up in order to save time and provide maximum information concerning patients to healthcare professionals in the territory, including dentists and nurses.
