The James Webb Space Telescope is a NASA, ESA and CSA project that aims to study the universe in infrared. It was launched at Christmas 2021 and will be in an orbit around the Lagrange 2 point, 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.
Webb has a primary mirror measuring 6.5 meters in diameter and four scientific instruments that will make it possible to observe everything from the first objects formed following the Big Bang to the planets in our solar system and other stellar systems.
