Imports under the raw materials regime reach USD 80.7 million

Approved authorizations

Regarding the approved authorizations, the Directorate of Special Regimes of the Vice Ministry of Industry indicates that from January to March, some 1,152 applications were accepted for imports of raw materials in the country, with China and India as the main procurement destinations. The first covers 58% of the market, while the Indian nation 14%.

Likewise Japan, with 6% participation; followed by the United States, with 3%; while Spain, Türkiye and Pakistan have a smaller volume of imports.

The imports registered in March, worth USD 23 million, also stand out; as well as 112 industries that imported through the regime and around 364 procurement requests were authorized.

Benefited sectors

In relation to the main sectors benefiting from the raw materials regime, the report reveals that 68% of acquisitions were concentrated among the metallurgical, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Among them, the acquisition of metal products stands out, with 40%; chemical and pharmaceutical products, 14.8%; manufacturing of tobacco products, 6.5%; paper and printing products, with 5.8%; and rubber and plastic with 3.4%.

Of the total authorized imports, 92% are concentrated in industries located in the department of Central; with 73%, Alto Paraná; 13%; and Capital with 6%, indicates the report from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
