The Tunisian Taha Yassin Al-Khenisi (45) and Fahd Al-Rashidi (64) scored the goals of Kuwait, while Mohsen Al-Ghasani (45 +5) scored the goal of Al-Seeb.
And the Syrian Jableh club revived its hopes in the competition, following its victory over the Lebanese Al-Ansar 1-0, in the same group, and the negative tie dominated the result of the match until the fourth minute of stoppage time for the second half when Jableh snatched the precious winning goal by Hussein Juweed, to lead Kuwait to the top of the group’s standings. With 4 points from two matches, Al-Seeb and Jableh 3 each, and Al-Ansar 1 point.
In the second group, Al-Arabi Al-Kuwaiti won the second successive victory, following beating the Palestinian youth of Hebron 1-0 at Al-Awwal Stadium, scored by Senegalese Ablay Mbengui in the 34th minute of the match.
For his part, Bahrain’s Riffa achieved a valuable victory in the last minutes over Dhofar of Oman, 3-2, to make Al Arabi at the top of the group standings with 6 points from two matches, compared to 3 points for each of Riffa and Dhofar, while the balance of Shabab Al Khalil remained devoid of points.
In the third group, the Lebanese Nejmeh managed to beat Hilal Al-Quds of Palestine 2-0, scored by Bukonta Sarr (53) and Ali Aladdin (90+1), while the hosts East Riffa beat Tishreen of Syria 2-0, scored by Sami Al-Husseini ( 45 + 2) and Prince Agrieh (90 + 2), so Al-Najma and Al-Riffa topped the group’s standings with 4 points from two matches each, compared to one point for Tishreen and Hilal Al-Quds.
