The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PU-Pera) through the Directorate General of Housing emphasizes the importance of technological innovation in order to realize habitable and affordable housing for low-income communities or MBR.
“The challenge of realizing the construction of affordable and habitable houses for low-income communities with various descriptions, situations and challenges, in my opinion, in the future this will require technological innovation,” said the Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PU-Pera Iwan Suprijanto in an online seminar in Jakarta, Monday (26/8).
Director General Iwan said that several record awards from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) obtained by the Directorate General of Housing were part of an effort to make breakthroughs in how to create technology for homes.
”If I adhere to the BMW principle (cost, quality and time), how to make the resulting costs as cheap as possible, both in building materials, structures, construction methods, we must continue to innovate by using materials such as unused materials, the principle ofean constructionand so on. So if there is a record for the fastest building, it is actually an attempt to make time efficient,” he said.
Then related to quality, even with the help of MBR housing, Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), and so on, let alone government intervention, its reliability must be ensured. ”Therefore, there are two principles that I have emphasized recently, namely that houses built throughout Indonesia with any mechanism, currently we are making a ministerial decision (Kepmen), must adhere to the first principle of reliability, especially in terms of earthquake resistance and secondly include aspects green or environmentally friendly,” said Iwan.
Then regarding time, how to be able to do construction faster. Faster this affects the cost function and faster
to be produced. ”This is our challenge to continue to advance this technology with the main goal of producing cheaper costs, better quality, and faster time. This challenge of three million houses in the future will be answered if we can do one of these innovations, namely technological innovation,” said Iwan again.
Hapernas Warning
For information, the Ministry of PU-Pera is holding the 16th National Housing Day (Hapernas) Commemoration in 2024 while also commemorating Bung Hatta’s services for various thoughts and enthusiasm for housing for the Indonesian people.
The theme raised in Hapernas XVI is ‘Housing Digitalization’ as a form of implementing digital technology in the housing sector, in order to increase efficiency, comfort, and security in the management and administration of housing properties and can provide a better experience for the community.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said that the application of digital technology is important to increase efficiency in managing housing properties. The government continues to encourage the use of technology in the construction of habitable houses for the community. In addition to earthquake-resistant house technology, the government also wants digital technology to be used to monitor construction activities or monitor occupied houses.
The commemoration of National Housing Day (Hapernas) is commemorated every August 25 as a momentum for all stakeholders to synergize in the development and provision of housing for the people of Indonesia. The spirit of Hapernas was inspired by Bung Hatta’s message in the 1950 Healthy People’s Housing Congress, ”;The ideal of fulfilling people’s housing needs is not impossible if we really want to with full confidence, everything can be done!” he said again.
