Important Consumer Recall: Smoked Salmon Contaminated with Listeria

Be careful with the salmon you plan to serve on New Year’s Eve. The site Consumer reminder indicated on Friday December 22 that slices of smoked salmon from Norway, marketed by the company Le Fumoir, were the subject of a recall throughout France. These slices are suspected of being contaminated with listeria.

The batches concerned bear the number 11173011 and have a use-by date of January 1, 2024. They were marketed from December 5.

Risks of listeriosis

Rappel Conso indicates that it is advisable not to consume these products. The site also explains that customers must return them at point of sale or destroy them.

“People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption”continues Rappel Conso.

“Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks”also explains the site, indicating that neurological complications can be observed, particularly in pregnant women and the elderly.
