Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, on Sunday, the implementation of a death sentence for one of the perpetrators in the eastern region, after it was proven that he was accused of committing indecency in a juvenile by force, and threatening to kill him, according to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The ministry said in its statement: “Khalid bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al-Shaheen, a Saudi national, lured and monitored a juvenile and committed indecency with him by force under the threat of death with a knife, and attempted to commit indecency with another event,” according to (SPA).

The statement added: “The security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation with him resulted in him being accused of committing his crime, and by referring him to the competent court. By implementing what was decided by law and supported by its reference,” according to the agency.

The ministry concluded by saying that “the death sentence was implemented as a ta’zir punishment for the perpetrator, Khalid bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al-Shaheen, a Saudi national, on Sunday, 1/26/1445 AH, corresponding to 8/13/2023 AD, in the eastern region.”
