Implementation of a two-stage family planning and reproductive health campaign in Assiut next Sunday

Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut, said that the Directorate of Health and Population in the governorate is in the process of implementing a family planning and reproductive health campaign with the aim of providing family planning services free of charge to beneficiaries in villages and the most needy areas from 11 to 22 September 2022 in two phases under the slogan “Your Right to Organize” within The “Our Days Are Better” initiative comes within the framework of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and within the state’s plan to provide free medical services to all regions and provide family planning services and means, and reproductive health to the target groups in order to meet the unmet needs of society.

The governor explained that the campaign is being implemented in two phases to cover all health departments within the governorate, as the first phase begins from 11 to 15 September, and includes centers (Al-Badari – Sadafa – Dayrut – Al-Ghanayem – Assiut Center – Al-Fath) and the second stage from 18 to 18 September 22, 2022 in centers (Abnoub – Sahel Selim – Abu Tig – Manfalut – Qusiya)

Saad explained that the campaign targets areas deprived of family planning services, and areas with high birth rates, pointing out that this campaign comes within the framework of the state’s interest in providing family planning services and reproductive health for women targeted in disadvantaged villages, directing the Health Directorate in coordination with all executive agencies to implement the campaign. Assigning the heads of local units to facilitate the work of the campaign to achieve the desired goals, while taking all preventive and precautionary measures and measures.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zain, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Assiut, added that the campaign will provide free family planning services through a group of trained specialists in family planning and obstetrics and gynecology specialists to conduct medical examinations and dispense family planning methods, through fixed and mobile units, urban centers, and public and central hospitals. and maternity and childhood care centers, in addition to providing health education services at the level of all health departments, pointing out that an implementation plan for the campaign was prepared, including activities, supervision, and participating parties. Development plans through the work of awareness programs implemented by the Waqf, Al-Azhar, the Church, education, culture, social solidarity, the National Population Council, the National Council for Women, and rural pioneers.
