During this Saturday morning, the head of the Health Ministry, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, visited the AutoVac, one of the nodes enabled for immunization against dengue in young people between 15 and 34 years old.
In this regard, the minister, doctor Luis Medina Ruizcommented: “This is a particular Saturday, where the AutoVac, in Aguilares and Concepción, is being vaccinated against dengue and other diseases such as Covid, flu, pneumonia, among others. With great pleasure today we saw a massive influx of the population and a lot of adherence to the vaccine, especially among young people. This excites us since we have the dengue vaccine available in Tucumán and we know that not all provinces have it, so we population to adhere is a very good thing.”
And he added: “I want to emphasize that the decision of the governor of the province, the accountant Osvaldo Jaldoby purchasing 200,000 doses in a timely manner, gave us the possibility of continuing to vaccinate. We are very advanced when it comes to the population of young people between 15 and 34 years old, and also to health, security and education personnel, public and private.”
Finally, the official thanked the Health personnel who, with so much emotion, appropriate technique and humanism, vaccinate every day, even on a Saturday.
For its part, Laila LazarteAutovac coordinator and nursing graduate, said that the main vaccines that were administered were against dengue, but also those intended to complete schedules.
“The response from the people is very favorable, we started early and everything was very dynamic, they arrive, get vaccinated and leave. We are very happy because people come to be inoculated not only with the dengue vaccine, but with the calendar vaccines, the Covid one, and this is thanks to a magnificent strategy devised by our Minister, doctor Luis Medina Ruizwhich benefits both us and the people who cannot attend during the week,” he stated.
José Antonio Zapelais 58 years old and works in a Bank, he explained that during the week it is impossible for him to go to a vaccination center and he needed to accompany his son to get vaccinated against dengue. “I took advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated against Covid and I want to highlight that this action carried out by the Ministry of Health is excellent since it allows many people to access the vaccine, something so important since the population must raise awareness and get vaccinated since it is free and especially because it saves lives,” he concluded.

Dengue Vaccination Day: A Saturday Like No Other
During this Saturday morning, the head of the Health Ministry, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, paid a visit to the AutoVac, a hotspot for immunizing young folks aged 15 to 34 against dengue. Now, if only they’d do something similar for binge-watching on Netflix, we’d really be in business!
In this regard, the minister, the illustrious Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, commented: “This is a peculiar Saturday, where the AutoVac in Aguilares and Concepción is buzzing with activity, vaccinating against dengue and a delightful buffet of other diseases like Covid, flu, pneumonia… ah, the classics! What a nostalgic trip down health lane! With great pleasure, I can tell you, we saw a massive influx of young people keen on their vaccines. Adherence to the vaccine is flying high! It feels like a pop concert but with far fewer screaming fans and a lot more needles! Their enthusiasm excites us, especially since we have the dengue vaccine here in Tucumán while others are just left tapping their feet in envy.”
He went on to express his gratitude towards the governor, the accountant Osvaldo Jaldo, for purchasing 200,000 doses in a timely manner—timely being a more polite way of saying last-minute panic buy! “Thanks to our governor’s foresight, we can keep the needles flying for young people between 15 and 34, and also among our health, education, and security personnel. It’s a vaccination VIP lounge! Who knew being pro-vaccine could be such an exclusive club?”
In a heartfelt moment, he thanked the healthcare personnel who tirelessly jab people every day—even on a Saturday! You really have to hand it to them; Friday night party? No chance! They’re out there administering life-saving vaccines instead—seriously, who needs a wild time-out when you can be a part of humanity’s immunity crusade?
Now, the lovely Laila Lazarte, the AutoVac coordinator and nursing graduate, shared that the majority of doses given out were against dengue, but attendees also got their Covid vaccines at the same time. “The people are really responding well, we kicked off early and everything was smooth. They arrive, get the jab, and off they go! Just like a drive-thru, but without the fries! It’s all thanks to the remarkable strategy laid out by our Minister, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz. Talk about a government plan that’s not only beneficial to us but to all the folks who can’t pop by on weekdays!”
Then we have José Antonio Zapela, a 58-year-old bank worker, who seized the chance to get vaccinated alongside his son, who was getting vaccinated against dengue. “I work like a hamster on a wheel during the week, so being able to get my Covid jab today is nothing short of a miracle! It makes me feel like a health superhero! This initiative from the Ministry is nothing short of fantastic—it lets people become their own vaccine champions. And the best part? It’s free! Saving lives and saving wallets; it’s a win-win situation!” he concluded.

Now, if only we could capture these heroic efforts on film! Imagine the footage: people rolling up their sleeves, the personal touches from the healthcare heroes, and a massive sign saying ‘You’re One Step Closer to Being a Uniquely Vaccinated Human!’ It’s got blockbuster potential, don’t you think?
Arte, the AutoVac coordinator and a passionate nursing graduate, chimed in, sharing her enthusiasm about the community’s response. “The turnout has been fantastic! People are coming in early, getting vaccinated, and leaving with smiles. We’re not just offering the dengue vaccine—we’re also helping folks complete their vaccination schedules! This strategy, spearheaded by Minister Ruiz, is a game changer, especially for those who can’t make it during the week,” she explained, her excitement palpable.
To add more perspectives, we spoke with José Antonio Zapela, a dedicated bank employee and a father. “I’m 58, and with my work schedule, it’s tough for me to get to a vaccination center during the week. Today, I brought my son to get his dengue shot and decided to get my Covid booster as well. This initiative is brilliant. It makes accessing vaccinations easy and emphasizes the importance of getting immunized. It’s free and, most importantly, it saves lives!” he stated with conviction.
As we wrapped up the interview, it was clear that the dengue vaccination campaign in Tucumán is not just about syringes and vaccines; it’s an exciting collective effort, a community rallying towards a common goal of health and safety in the face of disease. This Saturday indeed felt like a notable chapter in the ongoing story of public health!
