Immigration Minister: The law on importing cars for expatriates does not prohibit selling them

Ambassador Suha Magdy, Minister of State for Immigration, confirmed in televised statements that the law on importing cars for expatriates does not prohibit selling them.

The Minister of Immigration had revealed, earlier, in statements to “Youm7 TV”, all the details of the Cabinet’s approval of a draft law exempting cars from Egyptians abroad from taxes, customs and fees, and said that this decision fulfills the most important demand of Egyptians abroad, explaining that obtaining the exemption In return for placing this value in foreign currency in the form of a deposit, to be exchanged in Egyptian pounds following five years at the foreign currency rate at the time.

She pointed out that the value of the deposit is determined by the value of the cost that the Egyptian would have paid abroad as tax and customs fees on his car.
