Three practitioners filed complaints this Friday before the Order of Physicians for violation of the Public Health Code once morest government spokesperson Olivier Véran, as well as several deputies, all professional doctors, within the framework of the immigration law. This law passed this Tuesday, which includes a certain number of health restrictions for foreigners, was adopted by several deputies who are themselves doctors.
“We denounce, with numerous associations and health professionals, the complicity of Dr Olivier Véran, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, responsible for Democratic Renewal, government spokesperson (…) whose decisions directly undermine , to the physical and psychological health of a population known to be particularly vulnerable”indicates Georges Federmann, psychiatrist in Strasbourg, at the origin of these ordinal complaints with his colleagues Jean Doubovetzky and Jacques Cogitore, general practitioners practicing in Albi and Lapoutroie (Haut-Rhin).
“In contradiction with the oath taken by doctors”
According to the plaintiffs, Olivier Véran and the targeted medical deputies, by supporting the immigration law, violated five articles of the Public Health Code. They are in “contradiction with the oath taken by doctors + to protect all people, without any discrimination, if they are weakened, vulnerable or threatened in their integrity or dignity +”. “We welcome the resignation of the Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau and the abstention of two medical deputies, doctors (Paul-André) Colombani and (Eric) Alauzet”respectively Liot and Renaissance, adds the text of the complaint.
“The serious consequences of this policy, which recommends, in particular, seeing State Medical Aid reformed (…) represent an unprecedented setback for rights and public health in France”, continues the request, regretting “a political desire for precariousness.” Doctors Federmann and Doubovetzky had already filed an identical complaint once morest two LR senators last month. A conciliation proposal was made to them concerning one of these two complaints, targeting Pas-de-Calais senator Jean-François Rapin.
