Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)–According to Forbes’ list of the world’s richest billionaires, 92 foreign-born Americans top the Forbes annual list of billionaires for 2022 who currently live in the United States. Representing 13% of the 735 US citizens on the list are immigrants.
The net worth of foreign-born American billionaires has totaled $711 billion, which is 15% of the total wealth of American billionaires. These immigrants come from 35 different countries and from every continent except Antarctica. Among them, Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, ranks among the richest people, and is one of three people on the list of South African descent.
