Short-term interventions focused on the simplification of the rules to remedy minor external or internal differences in buildings and long-term interventions to achieve a substantial and overall reorganization of the Consolidated Law on Construction. These are the two points that the Legislative Office of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport deems necessary and which it illustrated to the participants in the third meeting of the technical table “Housing Plan and simplification of building regulations” according to what the National Council of Engineers reports (Cni) in a note. «The key point of the meeting – explains the Cni – concerned the reform and simplification of building regulations which would allow us to overcome a series of critical issues that today characterize the system of supply and demand for housing».

Particular attention to slight discrepancies

During the meeting, the engineers explain, «particular attention was paid to the classification of minor discrepancies, which do not jeopardize the safety of the buildings and the collective interest but which very often prove, in the sometimes contradictory current regulatory framework, difficult to overcome by ensuring that the real estate units are not subject to either sale or rental”. The National Council of Engineers, represented at MIT by Councilor Irene Sassetti, has prepared a document of observations proposing some simplifications and is working to »clearly classify what from a technical point of view falls into the category of “slight discrepancies”» always giving priority to respecting the safety of the building structure.
