The Prime Minister began the meeting, by referring to the repercussions of the current Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the negative repercussions it has imposed on various countries of the world, including Egypt, noting that the government is focusing during this period on implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, working to address any unacceptable practices related to monopoly Or concealing any commodities, or imposing an unjustified increase on the prices of some commodities in light of this current crisis, in which the Egyptian state is following its developments at various levels.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly indicated that the first meeting of the Crisis Management Committee was held, and another meeting was held with officials and representatives of the chambers of commerce, stressing the need for governors to follow up on the movement of markets and the availability of various commodities in them on a daily basis, provided that there is an immediate intervention to confront a shortage in Any commodity, taking into account coordination with the Ministers of Supply, Trade and Industry, in addition to the necessity of continuous communication with the Crisis Management Committee in the Council of Ministers.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to constantly ensure that the prices offered for goods are considered fair, and that there is no exaggeration or exaggeration in those prices, pointing out that there will be indicative prices for goods that achieve the interest of everyone, pointing out at the same time that it was agreed to an early date. The launch of “Welcome Ramadan” exhibitions, to be on March 15th instead of March 24th, so that citizens can have various types of goods at reduced prices and to enjoy the special offers that these exhibitions include.
The Prime Minister cautioned on the need for full coordination regarding the supplies and outlets designated for the sale of various goods, provided that such coordination in this regard takes place throughout the day.
For his part, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, confirmed that the ministry is working, in cooperation with the governors, chambers of commerce, suppliers of goods and products, and all other concerned parties, to increase the number of supplies in each governorate at the level of the Republic, and we will continue for the largest possible period also within a month. The Holy Ramadan in organizing the work of these pillars, noting also that an agreement has been reached with major wholesale companies to provide all the necessary commodities for citizens.
The Minister of Supply explained the procedures related to receiving the wheat crop from farmers, and the facilities and incentives granted in this regard, pointing out that a decision will be issued to prevent dealing with local wheat except in the places specified by the Ministry of Supply, and it is also prohibited to trade wheat outside the scope of storage places determined by the Ministry as well. Noting at the same time that the ministry is working to increase the quantities to be imported from local wheat, and there will be support for farmers.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Al-Qusair, explained the procedures for importing wheat, which are carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply. He also touched on the incentives that the government provides to farmers, the details of which will be announced in the coming days, especially with regard to approximating the points of receiving the crop.
