IMLebanon | Britain: Russia hired Chechens

While the Russian forces took control of the city of Mariupl in southeastern Ukraine, following weeks of harsh siege, the British Ministry of Defense refuted that operation.

And she explained in an intelligence report, excerpts of which were published on her Twitter account, today, Wednesday, that the Russian forces had enlisted Chechen assistance.

British intelligence confirmed that the Russians used thousands of Chechen fighters in order to overcome the fierce Ukrainian resistance to the city, over a 10-week siege.

She also indicated that these fighters included forces from the Chechen National Guard, as well as volunteer elements.
