IMF report places Paraguay as the country that will grow the most in the region this year

Asunción, IP Agency.- The “World Economic Outlook” report, published this Tuesday by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), places Paraguay as the country with the highest growth projections for this year in South America, with a 3.8% increase in its Gross domestic product.

This positions Paraguay with a growth perspective well above the South American average of 1.8%.

After Paraguay, the country with the best growth forecast in the region is Uruguay, with 3.2%, while Brazil, Peru and Venezuela would have a 3% expansion in their economies.

On the other hand, the IMF forecast estimates that Argentina would experience a negative result of -3.5% in its GDP.

Regarding projections for 2025, the IMF estimates that Paraguay will maintain its growth level similar to that of this year, in a region where stability is expected, and in which Argentina would experience a recovery and growth of around 5%. its GDP.

The IMF’s forecast for Paraguay for this year is in line with the auspicious estimates of the Central Bank of Paraguay, which recently expanded its growth expectation to 4% of GDP by the end of 2024.
