IMF plan to be discussed in Washington: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that on the 14th we are going to Washington where we will decide the features of the program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Talking to the media in Islamabad, the finance minister said that we will work in consultation with all the provinces.

With reference to the recent visit of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to Saudi Arabia, he said that he had made a successful visit to Saudi Arabia.

It should be noted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif had a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia yesterday, in which they expressed their determination to speed up the 5 billion dollar investment between the two countries.

It should be noted that on March 29, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that we want to sign a staff-level agreement for a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by June to stabilize the economy.

He said that we signed a staff level agreement with the IMF a few days ago which was very important to ensure macroeconomic stability and keeping this in mind we have entered into a long-term program with the IMF. Requested to be held and the IMF responded positively, we will have talks with the IMF on April 14 and 15.
