No longer appeared on an NBA floor since his short stint with the Nets during the 2020-21 season, Iman Shumpert continues to be talked regarding. After winning Dancing with the Stars USA version last year, the rear was this time arrested for possession of drugs at the Dallas airport. A very bad step – and a dance step this time – for a player who recently announced that his story with the NBA was not over.
Oh the beautiful dumpling signed Iman Shumpert. Still without a team for a year, the former Cavs is on the loose. On his way to Los Angeles to see his daughter, Iman was caught at Dallas/Forth Worth International Airport over the weekend in possession of a plastic bag filled with a “green substance”, according to police reports. Obviously, and because it would be much less funny, the Shump did not finally transport spinach leaves as you can imagine. No luck for him, the analyzes revealed that this mysterious substance was actually marijuana. In addition to the 200 grams of drugs that were seized, a magazine and several 9mm bullets were present in Iman Shumpert’s backpack. However, no trace of a possible weapon was found. Fair play even off the field, the guard admitted to being in possession of the weed and did not put up any resistance when arrested by the police. Shumpy shouldn’t be laughing at the moment, since such an act is considered a ” State Jail Felony“, understand that he faces two years in prison as well as a $10,000 fine if convicted.

At just 32 years old, Iman Shumpert still seems to have something to give in the NBA, but this arrest might cause him harm. The full-back/winger has said last year that his Big League history was not over. Coming out of a whirlwind experience with the Nets, playing only two small games and ten minutes on the floor, the 2016 champion with the Cavs has not been able to convince another team to give him a chance since. While his last real experience on the ground dates back to the Orlando bubble, already with Brooklyn, Shump may however have considerably reduced his chances of replaying in the NBA one day. Passed by New York, Sacramento, Houston, Cleveland and therefore Brooklyn, his profile as an experienced defender capable of returning shots might perhaps have seduced some franchises for the playoffs. While waiting to see Iman Shumpert once more one day on the court, the player will therefore have to get out of this unfortunate affair which may take him a little time now.
Iman Shumpert is definitely a real rockstar. After shining a thousand fires on the parquet floor and then on the dance floor, Shump skidded. New proof if needed NBA champion at the arrest box, there is only one step of bachata.
