Iman Al-Bahr Darwish’s Son Sentenced for Drug Use and Driving Under Influence

Today, Wednesday, the Alexandria Criminal Court ruled a 3-year rigorous imprisonment for the accused, “A”, the son of the artist, Iman Al-Bahr Darwish, and fined him an amount of 50,000 pounds, for what he was accused of using narcotic substances and driving a car while under the influence of drug use.

The ruling included the termination of the criminal case on his accusation of causing the death of a child, to reconcile, and to prove that the plaintiffs left the civil case and obligated them to pay its expenses.

The ruling was issued by Counselor Ezzat Abdullah Mansour, President of the Court, and the membership of Counselor Ahmed Ezzat Mazyad, Counselor Osama Al-Nabawi Al-Sabbagh, and Counselor Rafik Raouf Benham.

Case No. 3387 of 2023, felonies of the Sidi Gaber Police Department, began last February when the security services of the Alexandria Security Directorate received a notification from the emergency operations room of a collision between the accused and another car, and the accused was driving under the influence of drugs, which caused a collision that resulted in the death of a child.

Investigations revealed that the accused gave incomprehensible words and smelled of alcoholic substances from his mouth, and 4 bottles of liquor were found in his car.
