Imam of Siblin mosque targeted in shooting incident

According to the Central News Agency, the imam of the Naji Al-Ali mosque in Siblin, Sheikh Khaled Yahya, was shot following a scuffle occurred in front of the mosque. Reportedly, the sheikh intervened to push the quarreling parties away and was shot in the left foot by one of them. The sheikh was taken to the Ghassan Hammoud Hospital’s emergency department in Sidon for treatment. The Islamic Group in Mount Lebanon denounced the “flagrant attack” on Sheikh Khaled Yahya and urged the authorities to capture the perpetrator in order to maintain the region’s security and stability.

The imam of the “Naji Al-Ali” mosque in Siblin in the Al-Kharroub region – Chouf, Sheikh Khaled Yahya, was shot following a problem occurred in front of the mosque.
