Several fire departments in the Bellechasse region were called in to help fight a blaze that has been raging since Saturday morning at a factory in Sainte-Claire.
The fire started around 5:30 a.m., in an industrial building on boulevard Bégin, and had still not been extinguished, around 9 a.m.
It is the Soucy Belgen company, which specializes in the design of plastic, rubber and metal components, which is currently struggling with the blaze.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which was requested for assistance around 6:20 a.m., ensures that there have been no injuries for the moment.
Only one employee would have been on site, but he would have been able to evacuate the premises quickly.
More than forty firefighters from the fire safety services of several neighboring municipalities had to go on site to lend a hand.
Boulevard Bégin was closed to traffic between the intersection of rue de l’Église and rue Principale.
