During the night, the topics of GTAForums saw appearing a new topic, the latter containing many gameplay videos of… GTA 6, according to its repository. Videos that seem legitimate according to several voices. Would we have there a gigantic leak of the next Grand Theft Auto?
Video extracts whose legitimacy is confirmed to us as being officially excerpts from GTA 6 in its development phase. A man, claiming to have recently hacked neither more nor less than the company Uber, unveiled a set of videos on GTAForums nearly 90 gameplay videos of GTA 6, in its alpha design phase (thus a project under construction and far from being the final product).
Videos revealing the so-called “debug” tools related to the physics of the game, to the interactions and which are very similar if not identical to the tools which are well used at Rockstar Games, which we have already been able to observe during the development phases of Red Dead Redemption II. Videos, as we said above, which are confirmed as legitimate on our side. The effect of a bomb this morning, Jason Schreier for example qualifying it as Biggest leak in Rockstar history« .

What are the main takeaways from these 90 videos? Called “Americas”, the code name of a Rockstar Games project that has been in development for a few years, it includes the elements mentioned earlier in the year by Jason Schreier that we mentioned you elsewhere in this article : two protagonists: a duo composed of a man and a woman, the latter having features of Latin origin. Their names ? Jason and Lucia.

We can see in places, including a fast food robbed by our characters, but also exterior views that do indeed think of a modern reconstruction of Vice City. In addition, a police car bears the mention “VCPD”, for “Vice City Police Department” or a tram / metro bearing the mention “Vice City Metro”. We discover clothing stores, test videos on the cover system. The possibility of crouching would seem to be back in this supposed GTA 6 (let’s nevertheless keep the principle of doubt, even if…), a feature abandoned in GTA V in favor of a “stealth” mode.

Note the possibility of interacting with NPCs, as in Red Dead Redemption II. Finally, we note the mention of “Jay Norris” in a conversation between one of our protagonists and an NPC and his death. As a reminder, Jay Norris is the CEO of LifeInvader, who was killed in the middle of a keynote because of a phone tampered with by Michael, in one of the first missions of GTA V.

We will clarify during the day new details among all the videos if we find interesting elements. Finally, it should be noted that these extracts are of course far from showing the quality of rendering of the game that we will have in the coming years. : we are here on excerpts from a design phase of the game, called “alpha”, so it is normal to see NPCs not wearing all their textures, having vehicles or even elements of scenery taken from GTA V. Some excerpts are also on test areas and not on the playground, we are of course on the “alpha” phases of a game being designed and centered on functionality and interaction tests.
With these massive leaks, we just have to watch the reaction of Rockstar Games, which sees here years of work unpacked in broad daylight on the most anticipated game in the video game sphere.
