Support local residents without using following payment
Actor Im Si-wan (pictured) is a hot topic for helping local residents with the so-called ‘kind no-show’, which is not used following making a reservation for a Ukrainian accommodation online. Separately, he donated 20 million won to the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea. Im Si-wan posted on his Instagram on the 4th the details of his reservation for a 4-person room in Kiiu, Ukraine, from the 7th to the 4th of next month through the shared accommodation platform ‘Airbnb’. In the post, Im Si-wan said to the local owner of the hostel in English, “I have booked the accommodation for a month, and of course I will not go. I hope you and the residents of Kiiu are safe.” His agency, Plum ANC, announced on the same day that Im Si-wan donated 20 million won to the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea. An official from the agency said, “I understand that Siwan Im participated in the recent ‘Nice No Show’ movement because he thought it was a good idea.”
On Im Si-wan’s Instagram account on this day, comments such as “I now know that there is such a novel method” and “It is so warm and cool to practice an unexpected method” came up one following another. A netizen presumed to be Ukrainian said in English, “Thank you for helping Ukraine. Your donation means a lot to us.”
