Kamala Harris thanks Beyoncé, who has granted her the right to use her song Freedom, and launches the first video of her election campaign for the White House. The spot was published on the vice president’s social media profiles. The first move, needless to say, is the attack on her challenger Donald Trump. Titled ‘We Choose Freedom’, the video underlines the central message of the campaign: freedom on abortion rights, freedom from gun violence and the freedom “not just to get by, but to move forward”. The soundtrack is ‘Freedom’ by Beyoncé. “Ìm Kamala Harris, and I’m running for President of the United States” is the text that accompanies the video that asks voters to choose between the “chaos” of Trump’s America and Harris’ offer. She says “I’m running for president” even if the blessing of the Democratic convention is missing.

Meanwhile, another celebrity sides with Kamala: “It’s an interesting time for our country. Vice President Harris is trying to bring her energy to the campaign, and I hope she’ll be in the running to win the election,” Stephen Curry says from Paris, where he is among the stars of the Olympic basketball tournament with the US team. “We have a couple of crucial months ahead for our country and for the direction we’re going,” added Curry, also aware of the role he and the US national team can play: “We hope to do our part to unify the country, sporting successes bring people together.” In short, celebrities and athletes are taking to the field: will they be able to stop Trump?
