**Shona, welcome to Archyde! You’ve certainly made a life-changing move, swapping the hustle and bustle of London for the tranquility of rural ireland. What inspired this big transition?**





**Shona:** Thanks for having me! It’s right what they say about Ireland – it really gets under your skin. My fiancé, David, is Irish, and he’s from Offaly, known as the “Faithful County.” Visiting him showed me a fully different way of life, and I fell in love with the slower pace, the stunning scenery, and the warmth of the people.[1]



You’ve quickly become a local favorite, even earning the playful nickname “Offaly’s Taylor Swift”! How does it feel to be embraced so enthusiastically by your new community?





**Shona:** It’s amazing! I’m still getting used to the nickname, but it’s all meant in good fun. The Irish have such a great sense of humor, and they’ve truly made me feel welcome. I think people here appreciate someone who’s willing to embrace their culture and traditions. [1]



Speaking of traditions, your cousin, Mairead, shared a story about you learning to cut turf. What’s it like immersing yourself in these unique Irish practices?



**Shona:** It’s been a real adventure! Cutting turf is hard work, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.There’s a real sense of connection to the land and to the generations who have done this before. It’s those kinds of experiences that make Ireland so special. [2]



**Your journey from EastEnders star to Irish country dweller is quite remarkable. What’s the Biggest lesson you’ve learned as making this move?**





**Shona:** I think the biggest lesson is to appreciate the simple things in life. Living in rural Ireland has taught me to slow down, connect with nature, and cherish the moments with loved ones. It’s a world away from the fast-paced world of acting, but it’s a world I wouldn’t trade for anything.
