YouTuber ‘Woowaso’, who was criticized for parodying the main character Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the ENA drama ‘Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo’, took a hard line by suing malicious commenters.

On the 21st, Uwaso announced the appointment of a lawyer by uploading a picture of the pdf file containing the case delegation contract and malicious comments on the YouTube community.

Regarding the recent controversy over the parody of Woo Young-woo, Uwaso said, “I had a lot of fear of ‘what if I was really buried like this’ at the level of malicious comments and articles that I mightn’t handle.”

He continued, “However, we never made ‘disabled demeaning’ content, and if we succumb to malicious comments, we struggled with the fear that malicious commenters would wield the creators at will.”

He added, “I was prepared for my channel and my life to collapse, but I am grateful that many people have kept my side silently and the number of subscribers has increased.”

Uwaso, who has hired a lawyer for the first time in his life, said that he plans to take legal action once morest malicious comments that go beyond the limit. He said that he never thought of the video in question as an ‘autistic demeaning’ video, nor did he think that this video incites people to mock autism demeaning or induce ridicule.

Lastly, he apologized for swearing the same swear words to those who posted personal aggression.

Previously, Uwaso was controversial because of a video uploaded on the 18th of ‘Strange Wife Uwaso’. Some netizens expressed their displeasure with a wife who mimics the behavior and tone of Woo Young-woo’s character, such as not making eye contact with the husband who is talking to her, calling it an ‘autistic demeaning’ behavior.

As the criticism continued, Uwaso said through the YouTube community, “There seems to be a lot of people who are uncomfortable, but I respect everyone’s opinions.” This is the channel you want to go to. Therefore, if you think it is not suitable for you, please cancel your subscription or block it.”
