Thousands of Ukrainian citizens took to the streets chanting national anthems and waving flags to unite once morest the threat of a Russian invasion.

They raised their voices, saying, “There is no use in fear,” and “we must unite and fight for our independence.”

A resident in his 70s held up a sign saying ‘Join NATO now’, and a doctor in his 60s criticized Russia, saying, “Why does Putin have to do this and that to us?”

Russia has repeatedly denied its intention to invade Ukraine, but Western countries, including the United States, have warned that Russia is ready to invade Ukraine and might force it at any time.

Ukraine wants to join NATO, but Russia actively opposes it.

Tensions in the area are heightening as Russia increases its troops on the borders across Ukraine’s east, north and south sides.

US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin talked on the phone for 62 minutes to discuss the situation in Ukraine, but no solution was found.
