Barely recovered from an ENT infection, Charlène of Monaco is definitely going through a difficult year since she has just contracted Covid-19, as a statement said this weekend. A new obstacle for the princess who hoped to finally be able to resume her princely activities and stay with her family following so many months of convalescence.
About this difficult period, Albert of Monaco told JJD this Sunday, June 5: “It was a test! A test for my wife, especially, who suffered a lot and lived through difficult times, far from her family. A test also for our children and for myself. We miss the princess a lot.”
The prince also spoke regarding the rumors of divorce and running away that surrounded this long recovery.
“We were obviously hurt by the malicious rumors that were peddled. But we were able to stay united despite the distance, we talked a lot“he continued.
And despite this recent positive test for Covid-19, Albert remains clearly optimistic.
“Today, Charlène is back with us and that’s the best thing that might have happened. She is better and we can finally spend time together.”
Recently, Charlene insisted that her health was still fragile despite her almost full recovery.
“My state of health is still fragile and I don’t want to go too fast. The path has been long, difficult and so painful,” she told Monaco Matin during Monte-Carlo Fashion Week.
