In tears, the singer apologized to her fans for her decision.
Lena Meyer-Landrut wanted to tour Germany in June 2022 and also perform her songs at some festivals. But for the fans of the 30-year-old there is now “absolutely stupid” news, because the singer is canceling all of her planned performances in the summer. In an Instagram story, the musician explained what led to this decision.
Already in 2020, Lena had to postpone her “More Love” tour because of the corona virus. Now the pandemic is once more the reason for the renewed cancellations. But this time the government restrictions are not the problem. The former ESC winner explains on Instagram: “It’s my personal decision, I don’t feel safe because of the current situation,” she wrote in an additional post: “I would like to experience concerts with you when we are all more carefree and we lie in your arms and celebrate. Having a carefree time together.”
The problem for Lena is one thing above all: “I don’t feel able to organize such a big event indoors. I feel a responsibility that I don’t want to have.” The “Satellite” interpreter was “totally overwhelmed” with the decision she now had to make, but she realized that it wasn’t for her personally.
“I’m afraid of the feedback”
In the last slides, the singer apologizes to her fans: «I want to tell you that it is not easy for me to make this decision. I feel bad because I know that I disappoint you and I fear the feedback.” With tears in her eyes, she continues: “I don’t want to make you sad, especially not the children, and I’m sorry that I’m taking away a bit of normality from you.” At the end of her story, however, Lena promises that she will now go to the studio to make new music: “If there is no tour, then at least new songs.”
