The Japanese weekly magazine Munsun Weekly recently reported that an actress from a Japanese theater company died following falling from a building.
According to Munchun Weekly, at around 7 a.m. on the 30th of last month, apartment residents found a woman lying face down in the parking lot and reported it to the police.
After receiving the report, the police dispatched and investigated and confirmed that his identity was Kiai, who was working as an actor in a theater company. She also suspects that she made an extreme choice as she sees no signs of outside intervention.
Police said Kiai’s bag was found on the 18th floor, the highest floor of the building.
The media reported that Kiai appears to have been bullied by actors from the same theater company during his lifetime.
It is known that on the 29th, the day before the accident, Kiai did not return home following his first performance at the theater company and sent a text message to his mother saying, “It’s too hard.”
Weekly Moonchun interviewed people inside the troupe who knew Kiai and found that he was harassed by upperclassmen.
According to them, during the training period, Kiai was surrounded by four theater company seniors and suffered from verbal abuse such as “You’re stupid” and “You don’t have any ideas.” Additionally, a senior member of the theater company committed physical harm, including burning her forehead and face with a hair straightener, for teaching her how to straighten her bangs.
Meanwhile, the theater company canceled performances originally scheduled from the 2nd to the 8th. The theater company did not mention anything regarding this death incident, saying that the reason was to control the condition of the performers.
