Ile-de-France Derby in sight in Proligue

Massy Essonne Handball receives Pontault-Combault HB this Friday for a derby that promises to be hot despite two different dynamics in Proligue.

The 10e once morest the 3e of Proliga. Here is the Ile-de-France derby which is announced this Friday for the 20e championship day. Massy Essonne Handball, in the soft underbelly of the championship, receives Pontault-Combault HB, on the last step of the podium. The Essonne club remains on six games without a win (two draws, four defeats). Despite everything, this club continues to grow over the years and this, five years following being relegated from Liqui Moly Starligue. “The MEHB is evolving little by little, a room that is changing, development ambitions and a project that is being built for the years to come. My ambition today is to succeed in maintaining the sports project at the highest possible level that the club’s project will allow.”commented Thomas Lefèbvre, club coach, following his extension for three additional seasons, on January 16 on the Massy Essonne Handball website.

Pontault-Combault HB boiling hot

The Pontault-Combault HB, unlike the MEHB, is on a positive dynamic. In their last six games played, Guillaume Saurina’s men have won five (Caen, Besançon (x2), Cherbourg and Valence) for a loss once morest Bordeaux. Comfortably installed in third place, the residents of Espace Boisramé are only three points behind Dijon, leader of this extremely competitive championship at the top of the table.

A place that Pontault-Combault HB wants to keep during this derby this Friday in Proligue. A victory would allow Massy Essonne Handball de Caen, 6e and last qualified for the play-offs, to reach the next level. For Pontault-Combault HB, a success would put a little more pressure on Dijon, which will move to Cherbourg.
