The legend madridista presented values awards to participating teams.
Iker Casillas, Deputy Director General of the Real Madrid Foundation, took part in the closing ceremony and the awards ceremony of the eighth edition of the Alma Europa Cup, which this weekend brought together eight delegations from socio- international sports at Real Madrid City. These trophies reward the positive values that are transmitted through sport. He was accompanied, among others, by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Spain, Aleksey Andreev, Julio González Ronco, General Director of the Foundation, Rafael García Cortés, Director of the Foundation’s Socio-Sporting Football Schools, and the General Director of Salesian Missions, Luis Manuel Moral.
Casillas said: “For the Foundation, being able to celebrate the Copa Alma once more and welcoming you to Real Madrid City is an immense joy following two seasons of restrictions. These days you have been able to share the pitch and the values with d “other teams with whom you not only share a passion for football but also a particular way of understanding this sport and its values. We are very proud of the way you demonstrate these values on the pitch and in life.”
Regarding the teams, the school of Felsút, Hungary, received the trophy for the use of the value of equality, the Romanian team having shown respect. The Bulgarians distinguished themselves by their healthy lifestyle habits. The Moroccan project team stood out for its motivation. The Portuguese projects represented shared the prizes for empathy (Guimarães), autonomy (Vila Real de Santo Antonio) and self-esteem (Manique). The Spanish team won the prize for the team with the best team spirit. All were able to experience together a day of cultural, social and sporting exchanges, which constitutes for them a unique and unforgettable experience.
This edition has been supported by the UEFA Foundation for Children and, as a novelty, a Copa Alma channel has been developed within the interactive platform Sports Values Academy TV.
