Ikea Canada will open its first planning center in Quebec in Boisbriand, on the North Shore of Montreal in the summer of 2022.
This new concept from Ikea will allow customers to get help planning and ordering complex layouts, such as kitchens, living room layouts, or bedroom storage, with the help of ‘an expert.
The planning center will be located in the Faubourg Boisbriand shopping complex.
“The Boisbriand Planning Center will offer planning services by appointment only in order to provide a personalized experience. It will feature a selection of carefully chosen items for customers to touch and try,” Ikea said in a statement Tuesday morning.
Since the start of the pandemic, 60% of Canadians have made changes to their residence to meet the new needs created by teleworking and homeschooling, in particular.
“The IKEA Planning Center is just one of many ways we are transforming our business to offer new customer touchpoints and services to meet their needs and deliver affordable and relevant home furnishings” says Eri Mathy, National Business Development and Transformation Manager at IKEA Canada.
Purchases that will be made at the planning center can be delivered directly to the home “or be picked up at an IKEA pick-up point, including the PenguinPickUp located at 5565, boulevard Robert-Bourassa, Laval (Quebec).”
Ikea has around 30 planning centers around the world in cities such as Copenhagen, Berlin, Moscow, London and New York.
