MINISTRY The Ministry of Transportation (Kemehub) was asked to reduce airplane ticket prices which are much different from neighboring countries and also tighten supervision of transportation. This supervision must be tightened considering that Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 are approaching.
This was said by member of Commission V DPR RI, Musa Rajekshah during a working meeting with the Ministry of Transportation at the Parliament Building Complex, Wednesday 6 November 2024. The Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi was present directly accompanied by his deputy, Suntana and officials from the Ministry of Transportation.
The man who is familiarly called Ijeck said that the Ministry of Transportation and all its staff must tighten supervision of land, sea and air transportation. This is to reduce the number of accidents which are still in the high category, especially for land transportation.
“Regarding vehicle accidents on the roads, not only for Nataru but every day. I am sure that Korlantas has very high accident data,” said Ijeck.
“We will face Christmas and New Year. We hope that there will be increased supervision, because we already have our respective maps, which areas our brothers and sisters carry out Christmas and New Year, so that we concentrate on paying attention there,” he said. member of the DPR RI from the Golkar faction.
He said that the absence of weigh bridges means that the Ministry of Transportation and Regional Transportation Services have to tighten testing of motorized vehicles, or KIR, for transportation that is overcapacity.
Ijeck said that the suitability of vehicles via KIR was really taken into consideration because the transport carried goods, many trucks had additional chassis beyond the rear axle.
“This is also related to road damage, as we conveyed to the Ministry of Public Works. So that this KIR is really considered for heavy-duty transport vehicles,” said the Chairman of the North Sumatra Golkar DPD.
Another thing that Ijeck highlighted was the high ticket prices, which must be homework for the Ministry of Transportation to resolve. Because, continued Ijeck, this issue is also in the spotlight of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Parabowo Subianto.
“This has been an issue for a very long time. And we are grateful that the president, Mr Prabowo, is very concerned about seeing how ticket prices can be similar to our neighboring countries,” he said.
The Deputy Governor of North Sumatra for the 2018-2023 period is confident that the Ministry of Transportation under the leadership of Dudy Purwagandhi as minister accompanied by his deputy, Suntana, will exceed current achievements. Where, he said, the Ministry of Transportation is the fourth largest contributor to Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for the country.
