TASS, January 11. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has decided to suspend the Israeli team from competitions under the auspices of the organization. This was reported by the IIHF press service.

“After careful consideration, the IIHF Council has decided that, for security reasons, the Israeli team will not participate in competitions under the auspices of the organization,” the statement said.

This decision will remain in effect until the safety of all participants in the competition, including athletes from Israel, is guaranteed.

In 2022, the IIHF suspended the Russian and Belarusian national teams from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
