IHU: Toulouse creates its institute dedicated to Prevention, Healthy Aging and Gerosciences

The IHU project dedicated to healthy aging, led by the Toulouse University Hospital, has been selected as an emerging University Hospital Institute within the framework of the France 2030 “Accelerate our health research” program. an international jury on February 2, 2023, with the involvement of its three founders: Toulouse University Hospital, Toulouse III University – Paul Sabatier and Inserm.

Geroscience, an emerging discipline, is becoming a global issue for the medicine of tomorrow, targeting the biology of aging processes, in order to preserve vital functions and manage prevention before the onset of disability and disease.

The IHU HealthAge – unique in Europe – is a fantastic research and evaluation laboratory for healthy longevity. It promotes a prevention policy with the INSPIRE program and the follow-up of more than 33,000 people in Occitanie and, on a national scale with the ICOPE application developed by the Toulouse University Hospital, which is deployed in all regions and soon in several States ( Australia, Africa, China, Quebec…).
