Jay Shannon: Every market brought its own unique challenges and rewards. In Austin, I had the chance to work with some incredibly creative minds and help build a station that really resonated with the community.In Dallas, leading “Star 102.1” and “Mix 102.9” was a dream come true. Dallas is such a vibrant, diverse market, and being able to program stations that reflected that energy was incredibly fulfilling.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been mentoring young talent. Seeing someone grow from an intern to a full-time on-air personality or programmer is incredibly satisfying. I’ve always believed in paying it forward, and I hope I’ve been able to make a positive impact on the next generation of radio professionals.
