Liberty launches ‘Ignition Lab’, Esports research and innovation laboratory
In search of developing best practices and methods, Liberty launches the innovative Ignition Lab, a project created by the organization that will begin this Monday (11), in its new Training Center. Pioneering, the intensive training program counts on the expertise of football professionals, in addition to the special participation of Peter Dun, renowned League of Legends coach on the Brazilian and international scene.
The Ignition Lab project will use the off-season as an opportunity to develop training structures and collective evolution
The Ignition Lab functions as an Esports research and innovation laboratory. The experience will seek to use the off-season period as an opportunity to learn and develop training structures, contributing to the long-term development of athletes.
“Our main focus in this first edition is the development of best practices and new processes. In addition to the technical focus, we will also work on the mental aspects of players and coaches so that they adapt to the new training structures. Another important part of the work will be on health, performance and leadership practices”, says Samuel Walendowsky, CEO & Co-Founder of Liberty, one of the creators of Ignition Lab.
The project aims
“Our mission is to open space for new ideas in the competitive landscape and seek significant improvements in our regional performance. We believe there is always room to improve eSports methodologies and operations. We will count on the collaboration of other teams and this is essential for the success of the project. We want everyone to evolve and develop together”, highlights Walendowsky.
The first edition of the project will feature the collaboration of other teams in the scenario (more details below). There will be four weeks of intense training, with the presence of 20 athletes – nine from Liberty and 11 from other organizations and free players on the market –, staff from the organization, professionals from other clubs, traditional sport experts and Peter Dun, currently Head Coach at Team Heretics, and a reference on the world LOL scene.
The presence of several professionals from football and traditional sports reflects one of the Ignition Lab’s targets. As in these modalities, taking advantage of the offseason for collective and individual evolution is considered essential for Liberty.
“In traditional sport, periods of intensive or experimental training during the off-season are very common. Bringing this to Esports is something that tends to open up even more opportunities to look for ways to evolve by looking at traditional sports. Since the beginning of Liberty, we have wanted to replicate methods that work”, analyzes the CEO. “Our goal is to promote the constant long-term development of the organization. Ignition Lab is more than a project, it is a commitment to a more competitive future, where we have the opportunity to grow and innovate”, he concludes.
How will it work?
The first week of the Ignition Lab will be focused on training with staff. In the other three weeks, Liberty will bring together athletes, staff and guests for the next phases of intensive training.
