Iga Swiatek is fighting for the US Open trophy. The Polish tennis player advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Ludmila Samsonova. In one of her latest interviews quoted by foreign media, she admitted that she draws inspiration from the series Apple TV+ – “Ted Lasso”.
The title character of the Apple TV+ hit is an American football coach who comes to England to save a failing football team. He is distinguished by an optimistic, even naive approach to life. The coach slowly finds his way into the hearts of everyone around him thanks to his openness, patience and understanding.

The main role is played by Jason Sudeikis. The series was very well received by viewers and critics. It has two Golden Globes and thirteen Emmy statuettes under its belt. Many describe it as one of the most positive and warm series of recent years.
Iga Świątek, in an interview published on the official US Open Tennis Championships channel on YouTube, talked about her sympathy for “Ted Lasso”.
“It’s a completely different sport because [w ‘Tedzie Lasso’ – przyp. red.] it’s about team spirit. Here I’m with my team, but of course I’m alone on the court,” she said.
It turns out that Jason Sudeikis was present on the court and watched Iga Świątek’s recent struggles.
“I was actually trying not to look at the screens, but I saw him tonight. I wanted to focus and I hope he appreciates my mentality, because that’s what ‘Ted Lasso’ is all about.” […]” – said the athlete.
