IGA Swiatek has become accustomed to interacting with celebrities in the top two years of women’s tennis, and if Hollywood star Zendaya needs help with her game, the four-time Grand Slam champion will be happy to help.
Zendaya and her boyfriend, fellow actor Tom Holland, were among the spectators Sunday when Poland’s Swiatek beat Maria Sakkari 6-4, 6-0 to win the prestigious Indian Wells WTA title for the second time.
After the match, Zendaya posed with Swiatek and the trophy.
“Of course, meeting Zendaya was crazy, but on the other hand, she’s human like the rest of us,” Swiatek said of the “Dune” star, who is also the star of the upcoming tennis-themed film “Challengers.”
In the film, Zendaya plays a former tennis prodigy turned coach and her husband, a tennis champion, is going through a gloomy period.
“I’m just happy that she enjoys tennis and that she, you know, has this movie with a tennis theme coming up,” Swiatek said.

“So it should be a lot of fun. He can train with me anytime if he wants.”
Although Swiatek sounded far from star-struck, she said she was happy to have had the opportunity to meet the actress.
“Of course it’s fun and he’s a really nice person,” Swiatek said. “I feel lucky enough to be in this place where I can meet these kinds of people.” (AFP/Z-3)
