ORGANIZERS of the Paris 2024 Olympics say there are still 1.2 million tickets left for spectators who want to watch live events across a range of sports.
Most of the remaining tickets are for team sports such as football and basketball.
“More than 50 thousand tickets will be sold for more than 30 sports,” said Deputy Director General Mickael Aloisio.
Furthermore, Aloisio said the organizers are also preparing to release new, more sought-following venues for the athletics and swimming finals.
The 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be held from July 26, has broken the record for the most ticket sales for any Olympics.
The world’s largest sporting event has reportedly sold 8.6 million spectator tickets.

The previous record was held by the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with sales of 8.3 million tickets.
“We exceeded that number some time ago,” Paris 2024 Olympic organizer Tony Estanguet said in a separate statement.
“We have (sold) 8.6 million tickets for the Olympics, and more than 1 million tickets for the Paralympics,” he added.
Furthermore, the Paris organizing committee expects the total audience to increase to 10 million spectators for the Games running until August 11, and 3.4 million spectators for the Paralympics, which are held from August 28-September 8.
“More than 60% of tickets have been sold in France,” Aloisio concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
