If you are hospitalized for Corona, you must be tested for the flu… Simultaneous death rate is 2.4 times higher

It is noteworthy that the death rate more than doubles if confirmed with COVID-19 and the flu at the same time.
The Guardian, a British daily newspaper, cited a report published in the British medical journal ‘The Lancet’ on the 27th (local time), citing a report published in the British medical journal ‘The Lancet’. It was reported that it was found to be 2.4 times higher than that of patients with the disease. In particular, the risk of developing severe disease and requiring a ventilator was four times higher.
A team of researchers from the University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, Imperial College London, and University of Leiden, the Netherlands recently conducted a study on 227 patients who were simultaneously detected with both viruses. They found that the combination of COVID-19 and the flu virus was particularly dangerous.
Kenneth Bailey, a specialist in intensive care medicine at the University of Edinburgh, UK, said, “The risk of co-infection is very high these days, when COVID-19 and the flu are prevalent.

“Covid-19 and the flu are two different viruses,” said Peter Openshaw, a professor at Imperial College. He emphasized that the treatment for the two viruses is also different, so anyone hospitalized with one virus must be tested for the other virus.
Recently, in the UK, the number of confirmed cases is increasing once more as the stealth omicron (BA.2) is popular. Stealth Omicron is a sub-variant of Omicron.
According to UK health billiards data, the average number of COVID-19 cases per week (7 days) in the UK has plummeted from regarding 183,000 in early January to 27,000 at the end of last month. However, it turned to an uptrend this month, when the stealth Omicron became the dominant species. Currently, the average number of confirmed cases per week has reached 90,000.
Meanwhile, infectious disease experts around the world predict that the number of infected people will increase in the United States as in Asia due to the highly contagious stealth omicron. Eric Topol, director of the Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) in the United States, said, “In the coming weeks, there will be an increase in the number of confirmed cases of stealth omicrons in the United States.
Experts heard that as the reason for that, as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases decreased by regarding two months, many quarantine measures across the United States were lifted and people resumed indoor activities, such as restaurants and theaters, with their masks off.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of BA. As of the 22nd, the CDC said that BA.2 accounted for 35% of all infections last week, with half the share in the northeast.
Experts point out that the infectivity of stealth Omicron is regarding 30% stronger than that of the original Omicron (BA.1) as the background to the spread of Stealth Omicron. Stealth Omicron does not appear to cause more severe symptoms, but some cases have been confirmed to reinfect people with Omicron infection.
Along with stealth omicron, ‘deltacron’, which has both the genetic information of delta mutation and omicron mutation, is also attracting attention. Deltacron doesn’t pose much of a threat right now, but experts see it as an example of how the coronavirus can transform very quickly.
