Yasmine Ezz, on the People’s Talk program earlier, asked the announcer, Osama Mounir, regarding the crisis of the movie “Ashab wa La Aziz”: How would you respond if you received a message from Ahmed Helmy asking you for advice following he was attacked because of something he did not do?
And he replied: “My response will be whether you see that what your wife did is right or wrong, and on this basis you stand in the face of the whole world for the sake of your wife.”
He added, “I watched Mona Zaki’s scene, which sparked controversy, and the scene does not contain anything but expresses something, and she is an actress and can play the role of a country girl, a murderer, or a night girl, and she succeeded in performing the character as she succeeded in her series last Ramadan.”
He continued, “You, Helmy, are an artist, and you know the meaning of this word and you know your wife, and if in his place I would stand in the face of the whole world and I think he acted in this way.”
The movie “Friends and Dearest” was subjected to a wide wave of attack due to the audacity of some scenes and words, and actress Mona Zaki received the lion’s share of the attack because of a scene that many considered daring and words we were not used to hearing from her.
