If Liverpool want me to leave, this is something different. It’s not just about money

Liverpool’s top scorer, Mohamed Salah, has revealed that he does not know if he can agree to sign a new contract with his team. He stressed that negotiations with the English Premier League club are not only regarding money.

The Egyptian international has been negotiating with Liverpool for a while regarding extending his contract, but he has not yet reached a solution to resolve the negotiations with the expiration of his current contract next season, but Salah confirms that the current point of contention is not related to money.

“I don’t know, I have one year left on my contract,” he told the 44.2 website regarding his confidence to stay at Anfield for many years to come. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it’s not regarding money at all. So I don’t know and I can’t tell you exactly what it is.

The 29-year-old confirmed that he always wanted to stay in Liverpool, and explained: Yes. This club means a lot to me, I enjoyed football here more than anywhere else, I gave everything for the club and everyone watched it.

“I’ve had a lot of great moments here, winning trophies and scoring goals as well as winning individual titles,” he added. It’s like my family.

The Egyptian captain insisted that he is not worried regarding the start of the final year of his contract with Liverpool without a solution to his extension.

I don’t worry, he said, I don’t leave myself to worry regarding something. The season isn’t over yet, so let’s finish it in the best possible way, that’s the most important thing and then in the last year we’ll see what happens.

Regarding what was reported regarding his departure from the club this summer in the event that no agreement was reached regarding the extension of his contract, Salah confirmed that he fully expects that he will remain in Liverpool next season, regardless of the negotiations.

And he said: Yes, I think so, but he added jokingly: But if they want me to leave, it is a different thing. Liverpool have always made it clear that they want Salah to stay.
