Philips wins the IF Design Awards 2024 with four products
Philips Audio and Video has always understood the importance of European design and craftsmanship to the brand and its central role in the appeal of premium products. This European design-led strategy has won enthusiastic support from consumers, and the company has also consistently received official recognition from industry design experts, including the four most recent wins for Philips TV and audio products at the 2024 IF Design Awards.
The IF Design Awards recognize design for over 70 years

Winners of the 2024 IF Design Awards include the new OLED+959 TV, the premium OLED+909 TV – both created in partnership with audio experts Bowers & Wilkins – the ultra-slim B6309 soundbar and the A5608 bone conduction sports headphones .
All four products were created by the dedicated European Design team based in Amsterdam.
Commenting on the new awards, Rod White, Design Director at Philips, said: “The best of European Design is widely recognized as a key and unique differentiator for our TV and audio products and is something that continues to reward our investment in a dedicated design team here in Europe. Good product design leads to our customer satisfaction and pride of ownership that actually increases over time, and we believe this experience is just as important as the exceptional performance of the products.”
Philips OLED+959 Ambilight TV
The Ambilight TV OLED 959 is a true flagship with a restrained design that still readily communicates performance.
On the front side, the new sustainable light gray wool Kvadrat acoustic fabric can be seen on the integrated slim sound surface. The same fabric wraps the sides and top sides of the OLED panel. The fabric hides a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with three front speakers, side speakers, and two top Atmos speakers. There is an additional exposed subwoofer mounted on the rear of the unit.
The OLED+959 is also the first TV to feature the new Ambilight Plus technology. The aluminum floor stand comes in a non-metallic finish befitting home technology trends, and the accompanying remote offers wireless charging.
Philips OLED+909 Ambilight TV
The OLED+909 design builds on the success of previous Philips Ambilight TVs that discreetly integrated Bowers & Wilkins super sound into the area beneath the screen.
For 2024, the sound surface is thinner, preserving Bowers & Wilkins’ signature sound quality. The 4-sided Ambilight system also benefits from the extreme compactness of the device’s dimensions. Kvadrat acoustic fabric is used for the lower front sound system, while the larger subwoofer speaker is exposed on the rear lid.
The TV stand uses recyclable aluminum – without unnecessary finishing processes – and the accompanying remote control comes with wireless charging to complete the high-performance and sustainability proposition.
Philips B6309 Soundbar
The B6309 Soundbar delivers powerful sound in a very compact format for both Soundbar and Subwoofer – targeting consumer demand for enhanced TV sound from a discreet, contained product design that can easily fit into modern homes.
A significant reduction in Subwoofer volume was achieved while maintaining the expected deep sound performance. The Subwoofer can be used in portrait or landscape orientation and can be easily hidden within the living space.
Philips A5608 Bone Conduction Headphones
The A5608 bone conduction headphones join the hugely successful Philips GO dedicated sports headphones platform.
Bone conduction technology helps the A5608 achieve the identified user case, offering an outdoor sports product where good sound is balanced with a secure fit and open hearing capability for safety. The model is the perfect headphone solution for cyclists and runners.
