If Asia Cup doesn’t happen, our alternative plan is ready: Najam Sethi

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi says that if the Asia Cup is not held in Pakistan, we have an alternative plan for a three-nation tournament.

In a conversation with foreign media, Najam Sethi said that there is no security issue in Pakistan anymore. Teams from all over the world have come to Pakistan to play. The Asia Cup will definitely be held in Pakistan, if not, the plan for a three-nation tournament is ready.

Chairman PCB Management Committee revealed that Sri Lanka is putting pressure on the ACC to host the Asia Cup in their country. For this he is justifying that it is very hot in UAE in September. The host of the Asia Cup is Pakistan, Sri Lanka will get the gate money less. If the Asia Cup is not held in Pakistan, we have a complete plan to hold a three-country series.

Najam Sethi on former star all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s statement regarding the participation of the national team in the World Cup said that the decision to go to India to play the World Cup will be Shahid Afridi’s and not the government’s. If the government says to go to play the World Cup, we will definitely go there.

He said that he met vice president ACC Pankaj Khamji on Jay Shah’s request. There was a positive response to the hybrid model for the Asia Cup. Said will tell on 15th May but still waiting for decision.
