Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Sites in Southern Lebanon
The Israeli military conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon over the weekend in response to violations of a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon by Hezbollah, according to a statement released on Monday.
Addressing reports of a Lebanese soldier injured during one of the strikes, the military stated that the incident was under investigation.
During the strikes in southern Lebanon, several Hezbollah military vehicles were targeted. These vehicles were operating in the vicinity of a missile manufacturing site in the Beqaa Valley.
Further strikes targeted what the Israeli military described as terrorist infrastructure sites used for smuggling weapons adjacent to the Syria-Lebanon border in the Hermel area.
“The terror sites posed a threat to the State of Israel and were a violation of the ceasefire understandings,” the military stated.
Additional Strikes Carried Out
The military added that several further strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah activity in southern Lebanon, emphasizing its efforts to “thwart threats to Israeli civilians.”
“The IDF is operating against any threat against the State of Israel,” the statement concluded.
